You'll be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet timelines and requirements.As a key leader within our organization, you will foster technical excellence, promote a culture of innovation, and create a collaborative environment where teams work together seamlessly to achieve shared goals.Key Responsibilities:Set clear goals and expectations for the software engineering team, ensuring alignment with MTN's strategyLead, mentor, and guide the team in making informed technical decisions, solving complex problems, and adopting emerging software technologiesOversee and optimize software engineering operations, ensuring successful project delivery and fostering innovationProvide technical expertise in concepts like virtualization, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and track employee engagement feedbackIdentify and mitigate potential risks throughout the software project lifecycleIntroduce new tools and technologies, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learningProvide performance feedback and support the professional growth of the teamBuild strong relationships with external tech partners and represent MTN at industry eventsWhat We're Looking For:Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and CommunicationPost graduate degree in Computer Science /NetworksExperience:12+ years of relevant working experience8-9 years of experience in technical architecture and application development, or operations with at least 5 years in leadership roleExperience managing multiple teams of software engineersExperience in optimizing applications in standalone as well as distributed systems environment to maximize performanceExpertise in software development methodologies, design patterns and best practicesExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Skills:Experience in programming languages, frameworks and software development toolsStrong knowledge of telecom systems, protocols, and industry standardsProven track record of successfully leading and delivering software projectsDetailed knowledge of database management systems, SQL, and NoSQL databasesAbility to mentor and develop team members and foster a collaborative work environmentIf you are ready to take your career to the next level and lead a dynamic software engineering team, we want to hear from you!Closing date: 9th September 2024.
