General Manager: Operations

Our client in the music industry is looking for a candidate with a strong financial background to manage and control diverse business operations and functions.
Optimising operational capabilitiesAnalyse every department to identify areas of improvement for increasing productivity.Mentor the licensing team in licensing best practices.Manage licensing and distribution initiatives.Guide licensing negotiations.Employ strategies that safeguard, correct, and update membership and work information.Ensure membership information and works are integrated into systemsProvide strategies to increase the frequency, accuracy, and quantity of royalty distributionsImplement, monitor, and evaluate improvements relating to data processing and member statements by deploying new technologies and streamlining processes.Assist in the formulation and implementation of the operational budget Manage operational policies and proceduresCreate and manage the inventory of current operational policies and practices in line with the company culture and visionRecommend workable changes in line with the relevant legislation and best practice.Make sure the company reports an unqualified audit.Leadership and staff and coordinationIn agreement with the Chief Executive Officer, create a succession plan and implement human capital development strategies and training where necessary.Guide operational staff continuously.Management of organizational performance against strategic objectives.Respond to staff requirements for assistance in the shortest possible time.
Reduce staff reliance on you by delegating and upskilling them in their area of operation.Create consensus, resolve disputes, bring people together, and build collaboration between teamsGovernance Prepare for the AGM of members in accordance with the MOIMake sure the company adheres to all statutory requirements and complies with all legislationStakeholder Management Employment of strategies that maximise stakeholder satisfaction:Members (Publishers and composers)Government (CIPC, DTI, DAC, DOC, and other governmental departments)Bilateral agreements with other societies.MediaMinimum Qualifications and ExperienceRelevant Bachelor's degree - Advanced accounting qualification (CA or Professional Accountant SA) 5 to 10 years of managerial experience Demonstrated skills in project management and time management.Understanding of music business processes, departments, and goals..
