WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Procurement Sales Operations Brand Operations Account Managers Systems Engineers / Presales Marketing Logistics Regional Managers External: Vendor Resellers End Users Vendor Alliance Partners Main Purpose of Position: The General Manager of the Networking Division will be responsible for leading, managing, and expanding the Networking Division within First Distribution. This role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to drive growth by managing existing vendor relationships and acquiring new vendors. The General Manager will oversee all operational aspects, including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration, and sales, ensuring the division's relevance and success in the market.
KPA PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Develop and Expand the Networking Division: Manage current vendor relationships and strategically acquire new vendors to ensure the division's growth and success. Operational Oversight: Oversee distribution operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of network products and services. Manage logistics, inventory, network billing, and fulfillment processes to meet partner and customer demand effectively. Establish and maintain high service standards, handle partner enquiries and complaints, and implement strategies to improve service delivery. Human Resources Management: Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff to build a capable and motivated team. Manage employee relations and ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve divisional objectives aligned with the company's overall goals. Formulate strategic business plans outlining initiatives, priorities, and action steps to achieve financial objectives and drive divisional growth. Develop accurate revenue projections, expense budgets, and cash flow forecasts to support operational planning and decision-making. Leadership and Team Management: Build and manage a diverse group of employees, ensuring alignment with the division's mission. Provide strategic advice and report results and findings to the board. Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations and applicable laws. Market Analysis: Stay abreast of competing markets and provide analysis on market movement and penetration. Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions to address challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities. Reporting and Board Relations: Present reports on the division's business and performance to the board. Fulfill any other board requirements as necessary. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in IT and a strong technical background in Networking would be an advantage. Proven experience in a senior management role within the Networking or IT distribution industry. Strong understanding of Networking services, vendor management, and sales operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement business plans. Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Physical Requirements: Own Vehicle. Valid passport and willingness to travel nationally and internationally for business purposes. Office Requirements: Office-based working environment. Semi-formal dress code. Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00. Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal. Reliable transport to and from the office. Note: This is a permanent position subject to a three-month probationary period. You will be required to perform such duties as reasonably required by the business.
