General Engineering Superintendent (Ges)

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:SafetyCompliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mines policiesInvestigate all incidents and accidents as per SOPsMaintenance Management Execute maintenance work in accordance with maintenance management policyEnsure that root cause failure analysis (RCFAs) action plans are executed within assigned deadlinesAssist subordinates with fault finding and technical analysis on machinesAdvises on applicable parts and components to be replaced or re-usedReview planned maintenance work based on breakdowns and RCFAsEnsure that workforce is adequately equipped with tools and equipment to execute the required work safely and as per OEM standards Labour ManagementAssist the maintenance manager to fill vacanciesApprove overtime request from subordinates and inform maintenance managerReview the performance of the engineering foremen on a monthly basisManage workshop disciplineInitiate training and development matrix for the workforce and put action plans in place to fill the gaps Minimum Requirements:National Senior Certificate Valid drivers licenceMust have N4 or Equivalent Engineering Tertiary qualificationMust be a qualified Artisan 5 years previous experience as Supervisor/Foreman in the earthmoving industryRelevant experience in an open cast mining environmentKnowledge / Competencies /Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English PC proficient including Microsoft OfficeProven record of supervisory skillsProblem solving techniques and the application thereofExtensive knowledge of technical field of heavy machinery equipment------------------------------------------------------------Machines, Duties, Responsibilities & Reasons for Leaving at each Company MUST be listed on CV.
