Paarl, South Africa | Posted on 11/06/2024 To support the Freight Manager and coordinate the export process via Air or Sea from start to finish. Also, coordinating adhoc tasks. Key Performance Outputs Formalise and communicate loading instructions with load points. Book freight space and containers with Freight Forwarders. Check and forward Q67 forms for sea shipments. Ensure deadlines are met and resolve operational issues. Communicate with destination agents, customers, and follow up on deliveries. Forward shipment instructions and generate custom invoices for Freight Forwarders. Capture details in the Airfreight Log and manage export documentation. Monitor and cancel block bookings, manage ad-hoc space requests. Ensure Freight Forwarder compliance with SOP requirements. Track shipment timelines (ETD, ATD, ETA, ATA) and notify clients of delays. Stay updated on flight schedules and availability. Verify and sign off on creditor invoices against quotes/agreements. Build relationships with service providers, growers, and stakeholders. Assist in reviewing SOPs and support other logistics tasks as needed. Requirements Senior certificate / grade 12 / matric. Minimum 3 years' experience in the perishable industry, Air & Sea freight operations experience. Functional / Technical Experience:  ERP system experience. Excellent communication skills; verbal and written. Excellent planning, organisational skills. Building and maintaining good interpersonal relationships. Detail and results orientated with the end customer needs kept in consideration. Needs to be able to work with minimal supervision. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Ability to act with tact and discretion.
