Freight Controller

Position OverviewThe freight controller is responsible for airfreight and ocean freight clearing, forwarding & exports. This includes all aspects of pricing, client and agent communication, subcontractor controlling, tracking and document control associated with these functions.Essential Job FunctionsControlling customs clearing and landside movement of import & export cargo.Handling redirection and routing requests.Tracking and tracing cargo through import and export processes.Continually updating clients regarding cargo status.Controlling billing and profitability.Negotiating with carriers and agents to obtain preferential rates.Controlling clearing, forwarding & release documents (not including framing entries).Liaising closely with entries to ensure that clearances are affected on time.Controlling releases and ensuring that money is collected.Handling air and ocean freight estimates.
