Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies aligned with the company's objectives and industry best practices.Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, forecasts and produce costs.Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to ensure optimal financial performance and resource allocation.Conduct financial analysis and risk assessment to identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency improvement.Monitor and evaluate financial performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards goals and objectives.Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management, department heads, and stakeholders.Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, regulatory authorities, and government agencies.Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Formalise and implement costing methodologies (including standard costing) for primary produce and finished goods, ensuring accurate allocation of costs and pricing strategies that maximize profitability.Develop comprehensive costing models and systems to accurately capture all relevant costs associated with primary production and manufacturing processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and sales, to establish standardized costing practices and data collection procedures.Conduct regular reviews and audits of the costing system to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting principles and industry standards.Provide training and support to relevant stakeholders on the proper use of the costing system, including data input, analysis, and interpretation.Continuously evaluate and refine costing methodologies and systems in response to changing business needs, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.Drive the adoption of best practices in costing and cost management across the organization, promoting efficiency, transparency, and accountability.Work closely with senior management to leverage costing insights for strategic decision-making, pricing optimization, and margin improvement initiatives.Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and emerging trends in costing and cost accounting, and incorporate relevant innovations into the company's practices.Take responsibility for all accounting functions to financial statement level, on Xero, as well as the inhouse processing of salaries and wages, the required compliance with regulators as well as submission of VAT Returns.Qualifications and ExperienceCIMA qualified with 1 or 2 years' experience or BCom Management Accounting with 4 to 6 years Cost Accounting experience in Farming, Manufacturing, Wine production, food processing or similar.In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations relevant to the Agriculture and Manufacturing/Food Processing sectors.Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems, Excel, and financial modelling techniques.Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving financial performance and business growth.High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the company's values and standards. BenefitsOpportunities for career development and advancement within a dynamic and growing organisation.A supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, creativity, and teamwork.*ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED*
