Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing ranks among the premier nursing programs in the world and is a global leader in ground-breaking research and education.Your opportunity:Working under direction of the Finance Director, the Financial and Payroll Administrator is responsible for acting as the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries, entering timesheet data into applicable databases, troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies, and reconciling payroll distribution. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for creating and maintaining purchase orders, collecting audit information, checking that proper approvals are obtained prior to processing transactions and keeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements.Your responsibilities will include:Preparing payroll records for processingGenerating standard financial reportsApplying the generally accepted accounting principles to financial tasksProcessing accounts payable according to the University Guide to Financial ManagementProcessing accounts receivable according to the University Guide to Financial ManagementMonitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocationsReconciling accountsEssential Qualifications:Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum three (3) years of financial and payroll experience, preferably in a university environment.Experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable and reconciling accounts.Experience processing expense reimbursements. Experience maintaining databases and producing reports.Experience monitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations.Experience preparing and/or processing journal entries.Demonstrated experience verifying the accuracy and completeness of information.Thorough knowledge of the University's financial guidelines or other similar guidelines. Experience with interpreting and applying guidelines and procedures.Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Access.
