FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER Full responsibility for the financial & administrative department with specific reference to the following: Overall planning, organizing, and control over the execution of the following activities by staff within the financial & administrative department: Purchase cycle: Creditors & cash purchases Sales cycle: Debtors, cash sales, and fruit pool administration Personnel administration: Salaries and wages, as well as leave, medical, and pension administration Producer administration – fruit reception, grading, member payments, and administration of member funds and share register Administration and auditing of occupational safety and food safety systems Maintenance of computer systems General housekeeping – Administrative head office Appointment as Company Secretary and associated functions, including preparing the agenda for board meetings and taking minutes during board meetings Compliance with the requirements of the Occupational Safety Act regarding equipment and personnel practices by creating a safe working environment within the administrative office Issuing of tender documents for packaging materials and equipment purchases and evaluation thereof Cost calculations related to the packaging costs for pool accounts Preparation of pool accounts for fruit varieties and payments to producers Reconciliation of juice fruit and payments Monitoring and control over fruit delivery stock levels Controlling of unpacking schedules Bank administration – preparation of payments, transfers, and cash flow management Implementation of internal financial controls Annual General Meeting – drafting and issuing of notices and agendas, as well as preparation of presentations regarding financial statements and statistics Co-representative of the employer at workers' committee meetings and minute-taking Managing staff in a manner that promotes increased productivity and morale, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Labour Relations Act Administration of the Supplier Quality Assurance system (SQA) Completion of statutory returns, including the following: Skills Development Act Employment Equity Act SARS returns Statistics SA returns CIPRO returns Administration of the company's training needs and scheduling thereof, as well as monitoring the renewal of certificates Coordination of the annual external audit Preparation of monthly financial management statements Preparation of annual financial statements and annual report for external auditing Preparation of annual operational and capital budget and monitoring thereof Active participation in management meetings and strategic planning sessions as a member of the management team to ensure the continued existence and sustainable profitability of the company Requirements: B Com Accounting qualification; a completed training contract will be advantageous 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position Knowledge of the fruit industry will be advantageous Compensation: Market-related compensation package according to qualifications and experience, including company benefits such as a subsidized medical fund and pension fund.
