The main purpose of the Executive Housekeeper at Malewane Lodge and Africa House, is to ensure that The Royal Portfolio standard of excellence is maintained through daily housekeeping operations in all areas, from the lodge itself, to guest rooms and suites, public areas, laundry, back of house and staff accommodation. All of this to ensure that we exceed our company purpose, which is "to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay" . MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure complete satisfaction is maintained through the guests' experiences of the lodges, main areas and guest rooms. Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place, understood and enforced; Review guest feedback constantly; Consistent walk throughs and spot checks. Ensure that staff are trained on lodge product knowledge to ensure exceptional service delivery. Control the department's inventory, stock, consumables and equipment to ensure that the lodge is delivering to the highest standards possible. Oversee weekly and monthly stock takes; ensure linen runs on a par 3 level; manage suppliers and orders; oversee issuing of stock as per department SOPs; adhere to budgets. Manage employee engagement by effective rostering, recognising, rewarding and uplifting, through training, promotions, performance managing and constantly developing the Housekeeping team. Ensure that operational appliances are maintained and kept in good working condition. Health and Safety; ensure effective hygiene standards are met and maintained across the lodges. Financial sustainability. Adhere to budgets; maintain adequate stock par levels; account for all amenities with room changes; manage expired stock; effectively manage stock in Procure. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Must have at least 3 years in an Executive Housekeeper role Must have at least 5 years in Housekeeping in a 5 hotel or lodge environment Knowledge of the Property Management System, Opera, as well as Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams. Working knowledge of a stock management system such as Procure is an advantage. Must have Matric certificate, and a tertiary qualification would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.
