Job description Electrician/Site Manager Qualifications: N6 or National Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering Trade Test & Wireman's License Experience & Skills Requirements: A minimum of 5 - 10 years proven experience in Water and Sanitation, or pumps and panels Knowledge and experience with Electrical Maintenance Knowledge of Government Infrastructure regulations (advantageous) Excellent computer skills Strong project management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to cope well under pressure Valid driver's license Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections and servicing of maintenance.
Implement the preventative maintenance plan.
Manage workshop and tools.
Maintain and conduct general maintenance.
Manage safety standards within the Water Treatment Plant according to the OHS Act, relevant legislation, and codes.
Work closely with the team on various technical matters.
Prepare orders and obtain authorization for purchasing of materials.
Use work order system effectively.
Conduct quality audits of all the Water Treatment facility before inviting the client for approval.
Compile snag lists during walkabouts.
Assist Project Manager in implementing snag corrections or renovations.
Station at the site to monitor the project.
Arrange and attend meetings with suppliers, employer, and maintenance team.
Take minutes of meetings.
Provide progress updates to the Project Manager and/or Executive Management.
Manage and liaise with the client.
Maintain the filing system of documents and plans.
Day-to-day duties may include: Supervising workers and subcontractors.
Assisting project manager with work planning.
Managing orders and deliveries of construction materials.
Organizing staff work schedules.
Ensuring work is carried out safely.
Completing records for site reports.
Attending site briefings.
Note: This position will preferably be afforded to candidates residing in Johannesburg/Pretoria, Gauteng Province.
