Job Description Role Overview The Dispatcher ensures efficient coordination and monitoring of mining production operations by leveraging advanced systems.
By optimizing equipment utilization and monitoring in-shift activities, you'll play a vital role in achieving optimal production performance.
Key Responsibilities : Adhere to health and safety regulations and standards.
Monitor equipment utilization and maintenance to ensure availability during shifts.
Manage in-shift mining production activities to optimize performance.
Coordinate and streamline shift handovers to minimize inefficiencies.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity through operator inputs and automated system logs.
Supervise secondary equipment utilization to support production effectively.
Monitor loading accuracy using systems such as HPGPS, MineWare Guided Spotting, and MineCare.
Assign drills and loading tools to the correct locations and material grades.
Optimize parameters like material blending and truck queueing for efficient production.
Manage equipment maintenance activities and handovers to maintain operational availability.
Analyze and distribute shift reports for performance tracking.
Operate fleet management systems (FMS) for tracking vehicle locations and scheduling.
Reporting Line : This role reports to the MIOC Coordinator and is positioned at Band 7.
Requirements Qualifications and Experience Minimum Requirements : Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical Qualification.
Relevant Higher National Qualification (e.g., Computer Science, System Support, or Mining Management).
MS Office Suite Certification.
Valid Code B Driver's License (Light Vehicle).
Preferred Qualifications : Fleet Management System Certificate (Dispatch).
Experience : 3–5 years in mining production.
Knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and mining lifecycle.
Experience with CAD systems, GPS tracking, GIS software, and safety management tools.
Proficiency with mining management systems (MMS) and fleet management systems (FMS).
Key Skills : Strong understanding of operational stressors and their impact on performance.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage and analyze spatial and production data.
Knowledge of radio protocols and procedures.
