The Director of Curriculum and Instruction impacts students' lives by:
Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school
Raising student achievement by increasing the effectiveness of instruction
Observing instruction and giving daily and weekly feedback to classroom teachers
Working with the Principal to design each grade level's standards-based curriculum
Providing professional development for teachers on instructional delivery of school curriculum and data analysis and usage
Collaborating with grade-level teams and individual teachers on curriculum integration, planning, and student assessment
Coordinating multiple assessment programs
Managing a team of teachers and teacher leaders
Overseeing the daily schedule and providing leadership on the logistics of the school day
Using leadership feedback and goal-setting to improve daily practice
Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events
Taking on other tasks, as needed

This role is on the Lead Scale and may include bumps for taking on leadership responsibilities, summer work, doing work outside your regular job duties, or longevity with CCS.

Have a BA or BS degree, Master's degree preferred
Possess Louisiana Teacher Certification (or equivalent in another state), Mentor Teacher certification preferred
Have demonstrated success in coaching teachers, designing curriculum, and leading student achievement
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
