Deputy Director: Regional Infrastructure Programme SANBI offers an all-inclusive annual salary package of R1003 890.00 The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to effectively manage and coordinate SANBI's natural infrastructure programme across various SANBI Campuses.This position requires a degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural) or equivalent qualification at NQF 7. A postgraduate qualification in Engineering (Civil or Structural) or equivalent qualification at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires 8 years of work experience in the relevant field, 4 years of which should be in first line management position(s).The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position:Valid registration as a Professional Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP);Professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA);Knowledge of the PFMA;Knowledge of National Treasury's Infrastructure Development Management System (IDMS);Knowledge of infrastructure procurement and associated processes;Experience in construction project management of similar scaled projects;Experience in labour-intensive construction and managing expanded public works programmes;Excellent knowledge and understanding of building materials/tools available in the built environment sector;An understanding of the relevant regulatory processes applicable to the Built Environment sector;A high level of project and financial management experience and expertise;Excellent analytical, conceptual abilities, and report writing skills;Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);Computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook) will be an advantage;The possession of a valid driver's licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential.Key Performance Responsibilities include:Ensure effective regional infrastructure programme implementation;Improve workplace health, safety and security;Foster strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders;Manage regional infrastructure budgets.Please Note:Only online applications will be accepted accompanied by a CV together with a letter motivating why the applicant should be favourably considered for this position, and certified qualifications confirming that the minimum qualifications are met (applicants lacking evidence of meeting minimum qualifications and relevant experience will not be considered).A skills test will be conducted as part of the selection process.Applicants must also provide the full names, addresses and telephone numbers and if possible e-mail addresses of at least three referees.Failure to submit the requested information and reference number shall result in your application not being considered.Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
