Job DescriptionIndustrialized Products/Process/ Platforms -Prepares and releases correct curing specification for new and serial production articles according to the latest changes required by the PI tyre engineer.
Reviews and assist Process Engineer & Quality to maintain correct performance of the curing presses according to the R&D requirements and plant objectives.
Reviews and assist Process Engineer & Quality to maintain curing bladders and performance according to the R&D requirements and plant objectives.
Timeliness and adherence to product design, release and performance requirements of Corporate Development and factory as per CAG PI Procedure .
Monitors and initiates corrective actions required to maintain cure cycles to meet the established Corporate goals.
Reviews weekly PI procedures with PI tyre engineers and Plant operation in order to ensure timely availability of tire cure specifications.Costs Support/Value Leadership - Initiate Value Leadership measures to reduce the process costs of tyres.
Benchmarks articles produced in plant are comparable in cure time to similar articles produced in other plants.
Assists with bladder life improvement initiatives.
Hands on daily manufacturing troubleshooting and support to meet all factory cured and sustainability goals.
Troubleshooting to increase efficiency to due temperature control related issues.R&D Partner - Build up a thorough understanding of R&D processes within the plant organization; Promote new technologies tire sizes and products within the plant; Act as main technical interface to R&D and keep open and honest communication between R&D and the plant.Strategic Planning - Assess plant readiness based on future R&D requirements in terms of invest and capacity; Drive process to translate R&D requirements into tangible impacts on the plant ; Ensure that internal KPIs are met on a consistent basis and initiate structured problem-solving tasks.Projects - Industrializes new and existing products, processes and materials into production which are optimized for process capabilities, cost, minimize rework and comply with the established Release Notice Procedure and QM Standards.
Builds, Calibrates thermocouple wire sets.
Builds thermocouple sets into green tires according to R&D test plan.
Coordinate testing with various departments.Reports - Complete reports on curing.
Maintain bladder thresholds with-in SAP.
Assure procedural compliance through weekly Layered Process Audits.ESH - Issue procedures and work instructions, ensure implementation of measures and maintain controls; Raise awareness, ensure regular ESH training, and provide information about ESH responsibilities and duties; Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards; Demonstrate exemplary personal behaviour in ESH and motivate others.Consulting - Provide support to Production on curing related issues.
Lead curing related problem solving upon management request.
Attend meetings.QualificationsRelevant Tertiary qualification, Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rubber Technology or equivalent preferred.2-5 years experience in Manufacturing or similar industryMinimum 2 years of experience in the rubber industry for the maintenance of product specifications preferred.
