Job Description The role will mostly be responsible for Civil, roadbuilding and earthworks types of projects. The incumbent will be responsible for the safe and successful implementation of the mineral residue expansion project. The aim is to ensure successful implementation of the project within schedule and budget.
Your responsibilities will include: Manage the implementation plan in conjunction with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, including managing the project milestones and activities, and ensuring that project deadlines are met. Manage/Coordinate contractor activities on-site i.e. the quality of work performed on the project as well as the project progress Involved in effectively managing project costs and expenditures as well as continuous reporting on project progress Identifying all possible options available and provide indication of project value and budget estimations Data collation from various internal and external stakeholders Submission of reports for approval including value and risk profiling Model preparation and HAZOP studies Acquiring detail design and relevant engineering drawings Preparation of tender documents (RFQ's) and related sourcing processes in conjunction with Supply Chain processes Provide information to enable financial forecasting, capital costing and budget execution
Qualifications Bachelor's degree Civil/Mechanical Engineering or applicable NQF6 qualification PMP (Professional Project Management) qualification will be an advantage
Experience & Knowledge At least 5 years' experience in Project Management Advanced Management Development Programme or the equivalent will be advantageous Project initiation and execution experience on Civil, Roadbuilding and earthworks type work Extensive experience in the mining industry at Middle Management / Supervisory level Project experience with third parties' interactions (e.g. Contractor Management, infrastructure Management, Operations) Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to the mining industry, e.g. Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Petroleum Resources Act (MPRDA), Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Construction Regulations Knowledge of Operational and Engineering Codes of Practices, Policies Procedures Knowledge of Project Management Principles, and Processes Standards and Guidelines Sound knowledge of the mining industry and the core value chain e.g. Geology, Planning, Metallurgy and Engineering An understanding of contracting principles and contractor management Knowledge of project management packages such as Microsoft Project
