CEO - Project Chief Executive Officer (PCEO)Our client is an international IPP specialising in solar PV, CSP, desalination, and wind. They are looking for a new CEO to run a large facility based in the Northern Cape. There is extensive travel to site; the role is site-based or based in JHB.Purpose of this role:The Project Chief Executive Officer (PCEO) will lead the project company operations, people, and processes to ensure contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations are met. Oversees construction by the EPC contractor and operations by the O&M contractor for the profitable, sustainable, and safe construction and operation of the plant.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKPA's:Ensuring compliance to contracts including EPC, CTA, PPA, PWPA, O&M, and others.Maintaining a healthy relationship with stakeholders including Off taker and partners.Maintaining a productive relationship with O&M contractor.Sourcing ways and means to optimize operations, pre-empting and identifying challenges and opportunities to increase profit margin.Implementing approved infrastructure and business plans using project management methods, sound financial management, and developing metrics that detail success and sustainability of operations.Communicating with broad stakeholder constituencies including the Project Company Board, member project companies, government bodies, industry, and the public.Desired Experience & QualificationRequirement for this role:B.Sc Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.Degree in Business Management.Advanced business or management degree preferred. Additional advanced technical training relating to utility management is highly desirable.15+ years' experience in management in the Power Plant industries.5 years' experience as a senior-level manager is strongly preferred.Must have a proven record of career success including the planning, development, and successful implementation of sustainable and profitable business plans.Related experience covering management construction and operational activities.Must have substantial experience in the areas of organizational management, board relations, government relations, labor relations, human resource management, HSSE (health, safety, sustainability, and environmental), finance, and marketing.
