JOB TITLE: Business Unit Manager - LenovoAREA: Midrand, Gauteng, South AfricaINDUSTRY: ICTSalary / CTC: R 70 000 – R 78 000 (depending on current earnings, qualifications and experienceReport to: Brand DirectorJob Summary:The Business Unit Manager's mandate is to facilitate a relationship between the vendor and the business while maintaining the value realized from capital invested in Lenovo.
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for understanding the business, developing & implementing strategy, assisting in the prioritization of projects, and managing the Lenovo Brand team.The Business Unit Manager is the liaison between Sales and the Business Unit.
As such, the Business Unit Manager needs to have significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to Business solutions/Lenovo and must have a thorough understanding of the business to identify its needs and support the overall business strategy.Key Responsibilities:Achieve annual gross profit targets, while remaining within budgeted weeks of inventory and aged stock levelsMaintain accountability for the day-to-day management of the Lenovo Brand team, including BDM's, Product Managers, Operations Assistant and Product SpecialistsMentor and coach team membersEngage closely with sales teams and sales silo managersEngage closely and maintain a good relationship with the vendor, LenovoParticipate in the division's annual budgeting and planning process for the assigned businessunits, and track resultsDevelop and manage the relationship between the Brand, internal and external partnersConduct and execute effective business planning with internal and external Business PartnersActivate, enable, and grow Business Partnering in accordance with Lenovo growthexpectations and scorecard requirements, including marketing and demand generationDistribute into Retail and Commercial/Public Sector channelsBuild relationships at all levels within the CompanyEnable and facilitate technical and sales training: internal as well as partner/reseller baseAttend customer visits with your business partnersManage the sales funnel – present weekly sales funnel at the weekly team meetingFacilitate and assist with marketing events to generate leads for Business PartnersCreate and promote high-impact and innovative marketing programs and initiatives with the partners to generate new opportunitiesExperience and KnowledgeFive (5) years of related work experience in the IT Distribution/resale channelTeam management experience is essential, including all operational areas of managementExperience in Business development within diverse Business Partner accountsPrevious experience selling and working with customers at all levels of an organization including high-profile customersExperience in identifying sales opportunities and using skill sets to develop solutionsWorking experience in a customer service environmentExperience developing sales plans and closing dealsSkills and education:Matric certificate with exemptionA tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma in Sales, Marketing, or IT will be an advantageLeadership and management trainingDeveloped management skillsIntermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointProven sales skills/abilityExcellent verbal and written business communication skillsGood sales presentation skillsAble to complete basic calculations (ability to work with numbers)Organized individual who is deadline-driven with good time management skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and Good attention to detailDeveloped negotiation skillsAnalytical thinker and excellent decision-making skillsGood understanding of business acumen and project management skillsPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND QUALITIES:Able to work in a pressured environment, to chase and meet targetsMature individual, able to manage a high-performing teamStrong leadership skillsPassionate about salesInterested and enjoys working with Technology and IT products/brandsDecisiveExcellent time management i.e., deadline-driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workloadCapacity to assert oneselfAbility to motivate and lead othersDiplomatic and respectfulAbility to manage conflictExcellence orientation (set and achieve high standards & ongoing improvement)Feedback (provide positive, helpful & productive feedback)Analytical thinker and problem solverProactive and positive individualPlanning and organizational skillsLogical and efficientTarget & achievement drivenHigh level of honesty, accuracy, confidentiality, and dependabilityCOMPLIANCE COMPETENCIESPerform all duties with integrity, to the highest ethical standards, and in compliance with all relevant legal, contractual and other requirements as mandated by the Company Code of ConductKeep up to date with changes in applicable compliance obligations, controls and measures relevant to the roleActively and visibly support staff to perform with integrity, to the highest ethical standards, and in compliance with all relevant legal, contractual and other requirements as mandated by the Company Code of ConductEXTRASTravel Required: Yes, both local and interprovincial travelDriver's License & Vehicle: YesGrooming: Must be well-groomed and present a positive corporate imageLanguages: English
