Blockman

My client in the meat industry is recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Blockman with extensive knowledge and experience in specialized cuts and splitting up carcasses. Minimum requirements: Proficient in Afrikaans and English Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transport Must be able to lift heavy things, like animal carcasses Skills required: Must be able to split up animal carcasses Must be literate Must be able to perform specialized cuts Must be able to perform stock takes Duties will include: Skillfully cut and portion different types of meat according to customer specifications and orders Ensure all cuts meet quality standards in terms of freshness, appearance, and weight Implement proper hygiene and sanitation practices to maintain cleanliness and safety Operate and maintain butchery equipment such as knives, saws, grinders, and slicers Assist customers in selecting meat products and provide information on cuts, preparation methods, and cooking techniques Address customer queries and concerns professionally and courteously (in person or via telephone) Monitor meat inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain stock Adapt to fluctuating demands and workload in a fast-paced environment Remuneration: Basic Salary: R8000 - R12000, depending on knowledge and experience Bonus: There is a possibility for a bonus, depending on the turnover of the company Working hours: Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 16:00 Saturdays: 07:00 - 14:00 (if required) IMPORTANT: Applications close 20 July 2024 Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who meet all our client's minimum requirements will be contacted
