The Assistant Parts Manager will assist the Parts Manager in developing and managing a profitable, efficient parts department and accomplishing objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, and staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying and advertising.
This position is responsible for the performance and management of all parts activities including:
Assist the parts counter with taking parts calls, parts orders, and pulling parts.Assist in establishing itemization of parts inventory levels, and balancing them for maximum turnover.Assist in supervising all employees in the parts department while employing successful staff utilization techniques and devising control procedures.Assist in analyzing sales, gross profit margins, expenses, and inventory on a monthly basis to maintain profit goals.Ask questions about purchases and check prices and bids from other vendors.Assist in performing administrative duties and maintaining records in a timely manner, including sales records, expense reports, monthly reports, and internal communications.Provide information on parts problems, customers, and competition to parts sales management and other Dealer personnel important to product parts sales.Assist in planning/developing inventory tracking as required (quarterly, annually, etc.)Work with accounting personnel to help collect unpaid invoices from customers as required.Participate in special projects as assigned by Parts Manager.Keep abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.Attend managers meetings in the absence of the Parts Manager.Understand, promote and comply with all established policies and procedures.Be knowledgeable of any specific safety hazards and associated protocols associated with work assignments.Maintain a professional appearance.Travel as required.Other tasks as assigned.SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong analytical and organizational skills.Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel.Parts experience or management experience in truck parts or a related field.BENEFITS: BCBS Health – Employee contribution decreases with tenure.Dental and Vision.Accident, Critical Illness, Term Life and Disability.401(k).Paid Time Off Plan.We have a family-friendly environment with a business casual dress code.
