Assistant Accountant (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

The following 6 month fixed term contract position has become available within our Finance Department. This position will operate from our Amawandle Pelagic site in Laaiplek, Velddrif.Key Job Outputs:Financial ManagementDay-to-day accounting systems/transactions monitored and reviewed: General Ledger, GRIR Account, Debtors, Fixed Assets, Bank, Payroll, Charges Recoverable, TaxationReconciliation of Intercompany Customer, Supplier and Loan accountsIntercompany confirmationsIntercompany revenue schedulesJournals prepared.General Ledger reconciliations compiled.Reporting and AuditsInput to monthly and annual audit packs prepared.Quarterly report packs compiled.Year-end preparation and Year-end Audit deliverablesAssist with the compilation of Annual Financial StatementsBudgets and ForecastsAnnual budgets and quarterly forecasts prepared.Internal ControlsInternal controls implemented and monitored.Knowledge, skills, and attributes:SAP experience is required (2 years of experience working of the following modules: FI, AR, and AP)Microsoft Office packagesMicrosoft excel – advanced level.High degree of current technical accounting and taxation knowledgeAnalytical thinking and problem solvingHigh regard for accuracyDetail consciousExcellent Interpersonal communication skillsAbility to apply initiative, good judgement, and creative thinking.Good business acumenAbility to work under pressure and be deadline driven.Required Qualifications and Experience:B.
