Main Purpose of Job
This position provides secretarial support utilizing independent judgment and ensuring deadlines from the Human Resources Officer are met. Coordinates a variety of secretarial duties for the Administrative and Services units.
POSITION DUTIES Responsible for the daily mail and check log, voiding and shredding checks as needed. Scanning and uploading documents, maintaining the agency sub-adopt records. Distributing agency EBT cards and bus passes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes:
Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s):
Six months of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Six months of customer service experience. Six months of fiscal experience. LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION MUST BE WILLING TO WORK IN WORCESTER COUNTY. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
