Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Management Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in financial and management accounting, working capital management, taxation compilation and submission (VAT, Employee tax, Income Tax) and reporting (both internally and externally). The successful candidate is solution and outcome driven, pays attention to the detail and can effectively coordinate and multi task responsibilities for multiple operating entities within the Group. This mid-management position requires a professional who can train and develop junior team members, can communicate succinctly and proactively with reporting managers and is capable of developing and implementing necessary and relevant SOP's within the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounting & Financial Management Reporting:
o Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, inventory, general ledger, bank and inter-loan account reconciliations.
o Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, in compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
• VAT, Income Tax & Employee Tax Management:
o Preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws.
o Preparation and submission of Income Tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws.
o Manage employee tax (PAYE), ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and payroll tax obligations.
o Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure the company's compliance.
• Process Development & Enforcement:
o Work closely with the Head: Finance and Operational teams to develop, implement, monitor and improve financial and operational policies and procedures across the group.
o Identify areas for process improvement and drive the implementation of best practices within the Finance department as well as across the operations.
• Leadership & Team Collaboration:
o Provide leadership and guidance to the junior accountants and interns in the Finance team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
o Train and mentor team members, encouraging professional growth and development.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Education:
o A Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field would be beneficial.
o Min. 5 years of experience in a similar role – healthcare and retail experience would be advantageous
• Experience:
o Previous experience in accounting, with a good understanding of the subject, is preferred.
o While not essential, experience with specific software applications will be highly beneficial for this role. We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously worked with Xero, Zenoti, and GoodX. Familiarity with these platforms will enable a smoother transition into our systems and processes, allowing the successful candidate to contribute effectively from the outset. Proficiency in these applications demonstrates a strong capability in handling accounting tasks, financial reporting, and management within the context of our business operations.

o Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
o Xero accounting processing would be beneficial
