Position Type: Full Time
Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday:

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM12:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Friday:

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM12:30 PM - 2:30 PMFlexibility is required to meet business needs. The incumbent may often be required to work after hours, particularly around key finance activity periods including month ends, financial statement audits and budgeting periods.
About the Role:
Valmet is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our Durban office on a temporary basis to cover the incumbent who will be going on maternity leave in February 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team in a multinational company known for its strong foundation and expertise in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform accounting tasks to manage financial resources and ensure compliance with regulations and Valmet's reporting requirements.
Reconcile accounts and verify journal entries to maintain an accurate general ledger.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and regulatory filings.
Provide technical accounting advice to managers to support revenue and expense forecasts and enhance understanding of financial reports.

Qualifications:

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
Knowledge of ERP systems and office tools.
Fluent in English.
Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
Experience with a leading auditing firm would be advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with internal stakeholders.
Capability to remain calm in urgent situations.
