Our client is looking for a highly skilled Workshop Manager/Field Services professional to oversee the daily operations of a workshop. The ideal candidate will manage a team of technicians and ensure that repairs and maintenance on agricultural machinery and equipment are carried out efficiently and safely. This role requires a hands-on leader who is experienced in field service, with the ability to travel to client locations for on-site repairs. Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring the maintenance and repair of equipment such as Claas, Vaderstad, Deutz Fahr, and Eicher Tractors are completed on time. Manage spare parts stock levels, ensuring availability for all maintenance and repair tasks. Market workshop services to farmers to increase the volume of incoming work. Lead and manage a team of mechanics and warehouse staff, maximizing productivity and enforcing company policies and safety protocols. Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and promote a culture of accountability within the team. Ensure all workshop operations comply with safety regulations and best practices. Coordinate with the stores department to ensure the timely procurement of parts. Implement strategies to reduce costs, improve service turnaround time, and enhance safety standards. Manage on-site machinery diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance for clients. Install, commission, and provide training on machinery and equipment to staff. Maintain strong communication between departments to ensure efficient workflow. Ensure customer service requests are actioned promptly, exceeding client expectations. Manage job cards and reporting, ensuring multiple tasks are completed within tight deadlines. Key Skills: 3-5 years of experience in a senior technician or similar role. Strong technical skills in tractors, planters, and agricultural equipment. Proficiency in electrical systems and diagnostics. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of improving staff performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and take initiative in solving complex problems. Proficiency in computer literacy for managing job cards and reporting. Willingness to travel long distances for field service and on-site repairs. Fluent in English. Valid drivers license. Experience in field service, involving travel to client locations. Qualifications: Qualified Diesel Technician (Red Seal, Section 13).
