Posted today Full Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced candidate with strong leadership skills to take managerial responsibility of a diverse recycling facility with over 150 employees. The role involves both production and inbound/outbound logistics, factory planning as well as the physical management of stock, staff, and budgets associated with the operations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director. A passion for safety, sustainability, and efficiency in a constantly evolving environment is a prerequisite.
The successful candidate will be on senior management level and will be required to interact daily with middle management to maintain a detailed understanding of the end-to-end production environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage incoming and outgoing cargo (import, export, and logistics)Production management (planning, supervision, and day-to-day problem solving)Staff management in collaboration with the HR ManagerManagement of operational expensesInventory controlMonitor the compliance of the operational departments against policies, procedures, and legislation and implement measures to rectify non-complianceDevelopment and monitoring of production metrics and KPIsMinimum RequirementsOperations/Production Management qualification (or equivalent with relevant experience)At least 10 years of operational experience within a manufacturing environmentAt least 5 years of management experienceLogistics and shipping experience will be advantageousProven experience in running operations/productionPeople management skills in an industrial environmentStrong mechanical aptitudeExcellent leadership skills with proven planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and strong administrative skillsWell-developed interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of Health and Safety and Labour Relations regulations and legislationMicrosoft 365 and at least Intermediate Excel abilities
