Wet Services & Fire Design Engineer

Well established Consulting Engineering firm is seeking a Wet Services and / or Fire Engineer or Technologist to join their team in Durban.
Responsible for the design and implementation of wet and fire protection systems for a range of building projects.
Key responsibilities include:  Develop detailed designs for wet and fire protection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, and fire pumps.
Prepare calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
Ensure designs comply with local building codes, standards, and regulations.
Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate wet and fire protection systems into overall project designs.
Participate in project meetings and present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements:  Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5 or more years experience in mechanical wet and fire protection design Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and other relevant tools Strong knowledge of local building codes and NFPA standards Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills
