Job Functions (Areas of Accountability):Stock ManagementAssess returned stock, confirm that returns requirements are met.Oversee stock management; investigate stock discrepancies and shrinkage, as reported by the Stock Controller, verify results of cycle counts and reports.Liaise with couriers regarding delivery and collections.Ensure incoming shipments are offloaded timeously.Liaise with the Logistics regarding shipments, shortages, IBT's.Cost ManagementEffective cost control of financial and other resources including:OvertimePackaging materialsFuel costsMaintenance materialsWarehouse consumablesPeople ManagementLiaise with Stores Supervisor to confirm employee attendance, daily task allocation, deliveries etc.Manage employees' interests and issues in line with company policies and procedures.Technical KnowledgeProvide technical product knowledge and advice to customers, including drive designs (motors, gearboxes).Assist sales team with technical product support.Inspect and conduct quality control of returns products, problem-solve technical failures; conduct onsite inspections.Facility and Vehicle ManagementLiaise with security company to ensure electric fence in working order. Guard reports for duty daily. Report any issues. Monitor CCTV footage.Test alarm and panic buttons monthly in conjunction with security company.Ensure equipment, such as generators and fire equipment, are in working condition and serviced annually.Ensure forklift is functioning and serviced annually.Ensure pallet jacks are in good working order and serviced annually.Ensure company vehicles are serviced when required (based on mileage / vehicle inspection sheets / annually).Responsible for all company vehicles licencing nationally, renewals, roadworthiness testing when required.Collate and check vehicle inspection sheets. Report misuse of vehicles.Monitor driving behaviour and vehicle locations through Matrix tracking for reckless / negligent driving.Safety, Health & Environmental StandardsFulfil 16.2 duties as prescribed in OSH Act.Ensure that HSE programs are in place and managed by HSE representatives, line managers and supervisors.Ensure compliance with OSH Act and other legislation.Ensure any HSE matters are immediately reported, following the incident reporting procedures.Prepare and submit monthly HSE reports.HSE equipment must be available and ready for use.Ensure HSE equipment is serviced annually.Incidents / accidents are prevented by effective operating of equipment and machinery, and by following health and safety procedures and risk assessment guidelines.Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to and updated as set down by legislation.Ensure a safe and clean work area.Job Requirements:EducationMatric / Grade 12.Valid, unendorsed SA Driver's License.Logistics / Warehouse Management qualification advantageous.KnowledgeExcellent Product knowledge.Process knowledge.Knowledge of Policies and Procedures.Technical knowledge.Equipment knowledge.Knowledge of supervision and management.System knowledge.Skills:Time management.Problem solving.Analytical skills.Listening skills.Service Orientation.Communication skills.Leadership skills.Planning skills.Decision-making ability.Influencing, coaching and mentoring abilities.Conflict resolution.Communication skills.AttributesTenacity.Accuracy.Initiative.Customer focused.Patience.Logical thinking.Cultural / interpersonal sensitivity, empathy.Confidentiality.Information seeking, enquiring mind, self-development orientated.Experience:5 – 10 years' experience in a warehouse environment at a senior management level.Computer literate (MSOffice, SAGE Evolution).Job Challenges:Technical knowledge.Time-management.People management.About UsMegadyne is the member of AMMEGA Group - a global company located in 40 countries.
