Our Client based in Fourways in the Property Industry is looking for a Utilities and Sustainability Manager to join their team.
Minimum requirements:
Matric with Mathematics is essential
Diploma in Utility Management, Accounting, Property Studies, or a related field
Additional certifications in energy efficiency, utilities management, or BMS systems would be advantageous
Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Excel skills are essential
Experience working with metering systems and software like Nicor, SAP, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in utilities management, preferably within the property sector
Key responsibilities:
Managing utility billing, municipal relations, and optimizing utilities usage across large commercial or retail properties
Ensure compliance with relevant municipal tariffs and codes and apply these effectively
Monitor and optimise electricity, water, and waste consumption across all properties
Ensure that energy savings targets are met and adjustments to BMS (Building Management Systems) or control systems are made routinely to improve efficiency
Monitor the performance of the Utility Management Service Provider, ensuring that services are delivered in line with the SLA
Provide regular reports on utility expenses and identify areas for improvement in utility management
Analyse and report on KPI expenses and recovery reports
Present annual utility training to staff to ensure that all team members are up to date with the latest industry standards
Provide technical support to facilities management teams, ensuring that utility systems (lighting, HVAC, etc.) are operating effectively
