Minimum requirements: Matric with Mathematics is essentialDiploma in Utility Management, Accounting, Property Studies, or a related fieldAdditional certifications in energy efficiency, utilities management, or BMS systems would be advantageousProficient in MS Office Suite, MS Excel skills are essentialExperience working with metering systems and software like Nicor, SAP, or equivalentMinimum 5 years of experience in utilities management, preferably within the property sectorKey responsibilities: Managing utility billing, municipal relations, and optimizing utilities usage across large commercial or retail propertiesEnsure compliance with relevant municipal tariffs and codes and apply these effectivelyMonitor and optimise electricity, water, and waste consumption across all propertiesEnsure that energy savings targets are met and adjustments to BMS (Building Management Systems) or control systems are made routinely to improve efficiencyMonitor the performance of the Utility Management Service Provider, ensuring that services are delivered in line with the SLAProvide regular reports on utility expenses and identify areas for improvement in utility managementAnalyse and report on KPI expenses and recovery reportsPresent annual utility training to staff to ensure that all team members are up to date with the latest industry standardsProvide technical support to facilities management teams, ensuring that utility systems (lighting, HVAC, etc.)
