We are looking for full and part-time practitioners on a permanent salaried basis. The service is 365 days per year, 7 days a week which means that shifts are available 24/7.Main duties of the jobPrincipal duties and responsibilitiesTake responsibility for the patients assigned through the streaming process.Perform assessment of patients' needs, plan, implement and evaluate clinical treatment and care using advanced clinical knowledge and skills.Assess diagnostics including ECGs, bloods, urinalysis, and X-rays.Discuss with patients and carers the range of possible treatment/management options and their implications before treatment decisions are made.Instigate and implement clinical management and treatment changes when appropriate.Contribute to specific care guidelines and standards supporting the care of patients across the health economy.Implement Health and Safety and Risk Management appropriate to area of work.Deliver aspects of the Clinical Governance Agenda, following the direction of the Clinical Leadership.Contribute to and manage various elements of auditing in the UTC.Have overall responsibility for other members of the clinical team within the UTC.Person SpecificationQualificationsQualified Emergency Care Practitioner (Minor Injuries and Minor illnesses Level 6 or above)ExperienceMinimum 2 years experience of Primary, Urgent or Emergency Care within the last 5 years.Skills and KnowledgeKnowledge of clinical systems (EMIS/Cerner/Adastra/CLEO)Good interpersonal and patient care skillsAbility to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholdersAbility to work as part of a team and autonomouslyAbility to work under pressure and to prioritise workloadAbility to maintain confidentialitySupport and develop the implementation of change processesOtherActive Professional Registration e.g. GMC or NMCNot subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983Have had an annual NHS appraisalDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
