Urban Designer

Our client, a well-established and reputable Architecture and Urban Design firm based in Stellenbosch, is currently seeking an experienced and talented Urban Designer to join their team.ResponsibilitiesTo represent the practice at project briefing meetingsTo summarize urban design objectives and goals available from previous plans and studies.Evaluate development proposals to identify compliance with zoning regulations.Prepare design guidelines for open space, building form, project review and site planningDevelop massing plans and urban design concepts.Prepare site layouts as well as land subdivision plans for industrial, residential, leisure and mixed-use developmentsTo produce sketch illustrations in Revit depicting client brief accuratelyKnowledge and experience in delivering industrial, residential, leisure and mixed-use projectsHas full involvement in multiple projectsProficient in Adobe Suite (2D Presentations)3D Presentations (Lumion/ Enscape/ Twin Motion)RequirementsUrban Design Masters (MUD)Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Urban DesignerMembership with UDISA will be advantageous.Great technical ability and design skillsAdvanced in use of Revit (certification of such preferable)Adobe SuiteLumion/ Twin Motion (preferable)Sketching by hand and modelling in RevitAdvanced knowledge and proven track record in urban projects – including planning, submissions and design.Impeccable record keeping processesA high standard of communicationA commitment to providing excellent client service through efficiency and the quality in production of workAbility to work independently and in collaborative team environmentSufficiently experienced to resolve problems and to make decisions when requiredPlans and organises workflow and resources to ensure commitments and deadlines are metManages individuals in team and actively monitors activitiesBuild working relationships in project team and with clientsSets a positive example and displays visible loyalty to the companyBenefitsSalary: negotiable.Our client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.
