Job Purpose
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the organisation in fulfilling its strategic mandate to promote tourism in Gauteng, drive sustainable growth, and improve the tourism experience. The CEO will be responsible for the overall management of the organization.
Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum Requirements: A relevant postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Tourism Management, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).A proven track record of at least 10 years in senior management or executive roles, preferably within the tourism or hospitality sectors.Strong understanding of the South African tourism industry and its challenges, including international trends.Demonstrated experience in financial management, strategic planning, and operations management.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Experience in managing a diverse team and fostering a collaborative work environment.A passion for tourism and the development of Gauteng as a premier destination.Key Skills and CompetenciesStrategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on long-term goals and sustainable growth.Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Financial Acumen: Strong budgeting and financial management skills.Marketing and Branding Expertise: Knowledge of tourism marketing strategies and techniques to promote the destination.Cultural Awareness: An understanding of South African and international cultures, especially in the context of tourism and hospitality.Innovation and Creativity: Ability to think creatively and bring fresh ideas to enhance tourism offerings and experiences.
