Truck Driver

Vehicle Responsibilities:Complete a vehicle checklist on a daily basis before and after each delivery and/or collection. Report any defects. Responsible for driving the vehicle within the law.Assist local authorities in emergency situations involving the incumbent's vehicle.Ensure cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and outside. Ensure the vehicle is parked correctly in the designated area and that it is locked at the end of each day.Inform the Team Leader when the vehicle is due for service. Assist the Despatch Team Leader when reporting breakdown details.Report accidents or injuries to the Despatch Team Leader or Warehouse Team Leader immediately.Responsible for the vehicle's petro card and for refueling the vehicle as and when required.Deliveries:Makes on average 1 delivery trip per day to different Depots.In season, on occasion, required to carry out driving responsibilities beyond normal hours.Checks that the load on the vehicle corresponds to respective transfer documents and/or delivery notes. Signs the transfer note acknowledging that stock loaded on the vehicle is correct.Ensure that the load on the vehicle is safely and securely positioned. Assist with loading and offloading of the vehicle. Ensure the customer's load is delivered timeously.Ensure that the incumbent is in possession of necessary transfer documents and/or delivery notes as well as hazchem documentation and TREM cards.Ensure that transfer documents and/or delivery notes are signed by the receiving Depots and that they are returned to the Admin Assistant.Confirms and signs for any delivery discrepancies. Required to work safely and neatly at all times.Company Cellphone: Required to look after and use the company-provided cellphone in a responsible manner.
