Join our team and help us make a difference.About the roleWe are on the hunt for a motivated Treatment Plant Operator, reporting to and supported by the Design Manager. This role takes responsibility for the daily operation of our water & wastewater treatment plants based near Queenstown (Cardrona & Scapegrace Distillery). Ideally you will have experience with water and wastewater treatment plants, however we will look at potential candidates that have proven experience servicing similar equipment.This diverse position will take you both indoors and outdoors, offering a variety of tasks that will utilise your meticulous attention to detail and high levels of energy. You'll thrive in our environment and embrace the challenges that come with this vital role:ResponsibilitiesThe main Treatment Plant Operator on five days of the week (some weekend work / on call overtime may be required from time to time)Ensuring that water & wastewater services are operating efficiently and economically and meet the needs of our client & community, within their resource consentAchieve compliance to company/industry standards and Principal's requirements in relation to operation and performance of the plantsComplete all routine testing requirements, record and supply accurate reportsRespond proactively to client requests and ensure plant is serviced and maintainedTroubleshoot and resolve plant system and operationsAll required reporting is accurate and completed within the contract requirements, in particular the Principal's requirements and resource consent complianceHave flexibility to travel throughout NZ when required.Skills & Experience Required:Hold a current NZ trade qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical, combined with water & wastewater treatment maintenance experience would be an advantage but an advantage but not essentialNational Certificate to level three in water and wastewater treatmentSome practical experience in managing water and wastewater treatment plantsProven ability to work independently or as part of a teamExcellent communication skills is essential as part of the role is communicating directly with the customer and subcontractorsClean valid driving license New Zealand driver licenseGood computer literacy for time and service reporting.Does this sound like you?
