To us teamwork means acceptance, respect, dedication, and the idea that we can achieve more when we all pull together.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:You will be responsible for driving the following, amongst other accountabilities:Accountable for all terminal planning analysts in South Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.Accountable for the Cape Town Container and Mozambique terminals.Management of the husbandry agents within your location, hold regular monthly meetings with husbandry management teams to drive improvements or discuss and alleviate any pain-points.Ensures optimal berthing line-up for incoming ML vessels.Responsible for driving Port Moves Per Hour / Vessel Productivity and to reduce idle time for all services in SAI terminals.Coordinate with the terminal and Marine Operator the timely dispatch of vessels.Conducts pre-plan meetings for all incoming vessel calls with Terminal stakeholders.Conduct postmortem reviews of vessel calls to assess and address areas of improvement.Participate in the Network Change process by discussing and securing berthing windows for all ports within scope.Own the Integrator strategy in the terminal complex.Work with Area Product, Customer experience and Sales teams to improve end-to-end experience in Terminal complex.Deal with relevant Authority to obtain operational and commercial improvements.Drive cost control mindset and accountability.Analyze performance of operational execution of Maersk Line operated vessels in the approach and port stay, drive performance reviews and follow-up.Maintain and develop excellent relationships with various stakeholders both internally and externally.Be the focal point with SAASOA, TNPA and TPT for all operational matters pertaining to Maersk.Identify and suggest continuous improvement possibilities in the ways of working.Engage and drive discussions with terminals in your area to improve vessel turnaround times.Drive team engagement.Work closely with the Ocean team to drive vessel turnaround time and customer experience.Attend to any terminal related matters.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Minimum 4 years' managerial experience within the port operations environment in South Africa with a track record of a positively engaged team.Excellent terminal knowledge.Advanced understanding of the port operations environment in South Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.Proven track record of delivering and developing successful cross-functional relationships.The ideal candidate should possess a strong natural drive for results, excellent stakeholder management skills and a thorough understanding of Liner operations with proven or natural leadership skills.The ideal candidate should further possess a proactive and positive attitude, high enthusiasm, and ability to cooperate in an open and constructive manner, with the aim of the greater good of the Company.Structured and well organized.High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Good communication skills – oral, written and presentation skills.Strong team player, self-motivated and keen to implement change; deadline driven results orientated; proactive and the ability to guide and coach.
