PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Telemarketer will be required to market Scorpion products using the facilities (i.e., telephone, system etc) and the leads provided from different sources e.g., online, print and television media. These leads should be marketed in such a way that quality, convertible proposals are sent to the relevant department to be captured and approved as Scorpion policies.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Understanding and Managing Targets
The telemarketer should ensure that he/she understands the company monthly sales targets for the department for both Legal and Funeral.
Meet weekly/monthly targets set by Team Leaders.
Ensure targets are reasonable and achievable.
Marketing of Leads
Market products to potential members using prescribed scripts.
Use resources/tools supplied by Scorpion to market products exclusively.
Clearly explain products, benefits, and exclusions.
Obtain accurate member information for new proposals.
Ensure proper information capture for successful deductions.
Make required disclaimers as per the script.
Summarize each sales call to address final queries.
Maintenance of Call Centre Dynamics and Reporting
Ensure adherence to performance requirements through collaboration and regular assessments.
Submit daily and/or monthly reports.
Minimizing Member Complaints
Communicate respectfully with potential members.
Refer complaints to Team Leaders/management.
Cooperate in investigations of complaints.
Learn from valid complaints to avoid recurrence.
MINIMUM CRITERIA AND PRE-REQUISITE COMPETENCIES
Education
Grade 12 and/or equivalent qualification.
Additional call centre training would be advantageous.
FAIS accreditation is an advantage.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
12 months Telemarketing experience is essential.
Proven track record of achieving targets.
Experience with MS Packages specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent telephone, customer service, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
Typing speed of 35 words per minute.
