Job Specification;Render services generally associated with that of a Technical Sales Representative for the sale of machines, spare parts and services offered by our Principals in South Africa and from time in Sub Saharan AfricaTravel to customers to conduct business on a regular basis to countries including but not limited to Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and AngolaUse skills, training and best efforts to secure sales on a profitable basisLearn about and understand the application of the products from literature, training, testing and other means supplied by the employer and its PrincipalsLearn and keep abreast of technical developments required to perform the above efficiently and correctlyVisit and be in contact with customers to establish their needs and application of the products the Employer can offerIdentify the products to be offered and to determine the cost of supplying these in co-operation with the management and PrincipalsUtilize price lists, quotations from suppliers and internal information to establish selling prices for equipmentVerify all pricing information and determination of the selling price with management prior to committing the employer in a binding quotation and orderPrepare quotations and present these, together with any other relevant documentation to the customer to, wherever possible on a face to face basisPromote the products we offer including promoting the benefits to the customer and advantages over competitorsAccurately describe the application of the equipment offeredAccurately define the scope of supply of the offer and how this fits into the customers applicationKeep abreast of developments of potential new projects with the customers and to inform management and our Principals of these developmentsSecure orders for the products and to ensure that all relevant information regarding the application of the products is made known to the management and Principals of the employer, this includes obtaining such information as is relevant to the order and may be required by the Employer or its Principals to correctly execute the orderKeep informed of the performance of the Employers equipment operating at the customers facilities and to report the same to managementLiaise with our Principal suppliers to best promote their product and look after the best interest of the EmployerPrepare reports on the status of enquiriesPrepare costings for quotationsPrepare budgets for projected salesConduct administrative tasks in addition to those listed above including expense claims and any other as may be required by management and the established systems of the companyKeep abreast of future buying trends of our customersRespond to all enquiries in a timely and coherent mannerRepresent the company at trade shows, events and demonstrations where applicableMaintain and develop relationships with existing customers, in person, and via email and telephone callsArrange meetings with current customers and new potential customers to further our business interestsMinimum Requirements;Valid drivers licenceMatric or Grade 12Formal tertiary qualification preferredFood processing equipment experience within the beef and poultry sectorsMinimum 5 years of technical sales experience within an operation servicing the food processing sector is a pre-requisite for employmentSelf-motivated and self-managedAbility to work independently and within a teamStrong and demonstrable negotiation abilityTenacious and resilientResults-driven with a solutions orientationActive listener with excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenAbility to recognise new business opportunitiesAssertively confident, engaging and people-focusedProfessional personnel brand with emotional maturityGood business acumen and commercial orientationAbility to build trusting relationships and a strong rapport with customersExcellent Planning, organising, and time management skillsA confident communicator who is well networked within the industryComfortable traveling and being away from home for periods of time (local and across border) Kindly note that by submitting your application for this career opportunity you agree that Guardian Recruiting may use your application for the purpose of the recruitment and selection of the said position and this information may be shared with the relevant stakeholders in the business.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Should you not have heard back within a two-week period, please assume that your application was unsuccessful.All job postings are in accordance with our Client's BEE requirements.Please only send certificates when requested to do so.
