Mission: This is a technical sales role for rock drills and drilling equipment. To expand the market share of the company by developing relationships with new and existing customers to promote a wide range of high precision manufactured component parts to the customer's specification. The sales representative will exhibit independent judgement and sound technical knowledge to position the company and the Weco brand prominently as the quality manufacturer of choice.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Develop meaningful customer relationships through face-to-face sales and contact. Travel widely to customer sites throughout the region. Create partnerships with customers to ascertain their needs and develop products to provide solutions. Create Audit, Inspection, and failure reports, with solutions that add value to the customer. Respond to clients' needs promptly thus ensuring our brand promise of Rock Solid Dependability. Provide support to sales team to develop sales funnel with new products to existing customers. Collect industry and customer information and collate customer data for future planning. Use databases and customer information to generate additional sales opportunities. Generate quotations for intricate and detailed manufactured items. Assist R&D team with information to speedily develop prototypes to client specifications. Assist internal sales teams with deliveries and customer relationships. Assist with marketing material and events to promote sales. Competencies, Skills and Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar industry. Extensive knowledge of drifter components (rock drills), their applications, and uses. Understanding of the operation and theory of all moving machinery and working equipment in a trackless mining environment. Ability to read drawings and technical diagrams and electrical circuitry. Thorough understanding of compliance, ISO/OHS, and mine safety regulations. Knowledge of basic MS Office, emails, and online/remote platforms for meetings. Fluent in Afrikaans & English, and preferably an African language, with exceptional ability to write technical reports in English. Ability to lead conversations around technical matters with operators, supervisors, foreman, engineers, and technical staff. Sales Experience, Advanced Excel Skills, CRM systems, Oracle, SAP. Extensive local travel. Multinational organization experience. Educational Qualification: Trade certificate: Diesel, Millwright, Electrician (Auto), Hydraulic Fitter.
