The Department: Grow your career and join the Compliance team! We are responsible for identifying the risks that we face and provide advice on them. We design and implement controls to protect the business from those risks and monitor and report on the effectiveness of the controls in the management of our exposure to risks. We resolve compliance difficulties as they occur and advise the business on licensing regulations, rules and controls where necessary, with a strong emphasis on product. Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this role is to provide proactive, professional, and commercially aware compliance advice and services to the business. You will be involved in assisting the business in all day-to-day duties concerning the regulated market(s) and general business requirements, including ensuring that the operator meets its reporting obligations. The technical compliance specialist will ensure all technical operations and systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role involves working closely with various departments to maintain compliance in all aspects of our online gaming platforms including regulatory data required by the regulator You will work closely with all business areas and external stakeholders, to provide expert advice and assistance, as well as actively managing and co-ordinating the resolution of software technical issues at a compliance level across various systems and jurisdictions. This requires the review and in-depth analysis of information received from various stakeholders, both internally & externally, to make appropriate recommendations in line with compliance operations, policies, and procedures to assist in resolving software technical issues.
The overall focus of the position is to take ownership and successfully resolve technical issues on-time, to specification and to expectation. To achieve this, the Compliance Specialist will, as a recognised subject matter expert, be responsible for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining logs of incidents, issues and outcomes, ensuring accurate information and data is provided to stakeholders and ensuring the resolution of these issues with stakeholders. In addition, this role will involve supporting the wider operational needs of the Compliance teams by implementing tactical solutions wherever necessary.
Duties include, but not limited to: You will be involved in duties concerning the regulated market(s) assigned to you including any general business requirements.
Building communication plans for implementation, to ensure all impacted parties are informed of next steps for completion.
Acting as an advocate for operational change, which requires influencing others.
Working collaboratively across the business to support, monitor and track compliance-related initiatives.
Reviewing and analysing information received from various stakeholders and making appropriate recommendations
In-depth analysis of data to assist with technical resolution
Developing strong relationships across stakeholder groups, managing requests, and ensuring key deliverables are executed effectively and efficiently
Assisting with internal audits to ensure that the KYC, AML processes and procedures are being followed
Assisting with successful implementation of new/revised processes and/or regulatory requirements Compliance procedures
Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
Supervision and management of change controls
Driving an increased level of professionalism and consistency in the work delivered by the Compliance department.
Maintaining a broad understanding of regulatory frameworks, Responsible Gaming, AML and data protection
Management of ad-hoc requests to the Compliance team for the assigned jurisdictions and provide coverage for absence of other compliance specialist.
Assisting in ad hoc duties as and when required
Experience influencing and advising senior management
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to work across all levels of the business.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the role in high pressure and time constrained working environments
Experience of working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
Ability to be creative and able to find innovative solutions to problems
Essential Criteria: Minimum 12 months DOS experience
Experience in gambling compliance
Highly diplomatic and able to support and empower colleagues
A proven track record in stakeholder management and influencing skills
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk mitigation strategies
Ability to apply knowledge of managing compliance to multiple jurisdictions and licences
Exceptional attention to detail & accuracy, particularly in external communications
Exceptional English language skills – both written and verbal to work across all levels of the business
Experience in compliance, risk management or internal audit
Experience supporting business in delivering complex projects in a regulated environment
Experience of incident management
Experience in presenting to wider stakeholders
Desirable Criteria:
Compliance qualifications such as the ICA Advanced Certification in Compliance
Relevant Tertiary qualification
Proficiency in Spanish Language
