Experience in the steel manufacturing and/or rail industry will be greatly advantageous.EducationMust have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain or related qualifications from an accredited institution.ExperienceKnowledge of commercial terms and conditions.The ability to work cross-functionally with sales and product management.Strong planning skills.Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly adaptable.Good communication and negotiation skills.Experience in identifying cost savings and driving down costs.Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Advanced knowledge of Oracle ERP system.Job ResponsibilitiesHandle the Request for Quotations (RFQ) processes for the division and relevant categories.Participate actively in the supplier selection and undertake performance reviews.Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve business savings.Purchase goods from approved vendors.Prepare compliant purchase orders.Assist in sourcing products and services and evaluating new vendors.Provide analysis on costs, both new and existing, and review cost reduction activities.Draw outstanding purchase order reports.Confirm contract and price queries.File all records to enable quick and easy access.Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on the purchasing process and new projects and activities.Monitor and advise on any issues which may present risk or opportunity to the organization.Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvements.Communicate any delay or potential delay on orders to the relevant stakeholders.Desired SkillsTechnical procurementRailNegotiationsContract termsOracleEmployer & Job BenefitsMedical
