IntroductionTo drive, protect and enhance the Clicks brand by taking responsibility for ensuring all products developed and sourced as part of the NPD development plan and subsequently sold in our stores have integrity and at a minimum meet the local and international quality, health and safety requirements whilst constantly striving to deliver increased profitability and grow market share.Job descriptionManage Quality, Safety & LegislationSupport the PL technologist within their development plans to ensure quality and safety compliance across all PL development by adhering to legislation and NPD approval processes to protect the brand reputation and financial impact on the business.Assist the technologist with implementation of the CTSO into the business and the supplier base and maintain all quality processes and correct paperwork.Assist with product specifications and manage the RAG process for each product, ensuring the database is maintained.Ensure product specifications conform to the quality standards.Assist with writing quality protocols/SOP's procedures and manuals for all categories (health, beauty, confectionary, electrical and home ware).Update the CTSO with new quality processes and protocols as necessary.Support the technologist in reviewing and communicating TQM results to relevant stakeholders (including customer complaints, quality control results, etc.).Report and provide feedback on quality in a timely manner.Ensure the China QA office is used for all export requirements and that the RAG process is followed.Assist the technologist with implementation of the DC release process.Support the technologist in preparing ongoing and timely sales, quality, and corrective action reports (including scorecards, supplier scorecards) for management through drawing, analyzing, and interpreting accurate data.Support the technologist in responsibilities relevant to customer complaints/queries, red alerts, public product recall, and product withdrawals.Assist the technologist with technical training regarding product and process for new product launches.Manage NPD & CostsAssist with bi-annual competitor quality review report.Support in the management of relevant technical information to enable final sign-off of projects for product and packaging compliance.Support the technologist in adherence to and input into the critical path.Support the export project framework/plan to retrofit product into international rules and launch in a timely manner.Manage Suppliers & InventoryAssist with building good working relationships with suppliers.Understand the impact of low or no in-fills on the categories and resolve issues of quality/capacity.GeneralActively demonstrate the Clicks values in day-to-day activities.Assist the technologist in all administrative duties relating to RAG approval and ad-hoc reporting requirements.The Ideal CandidateWill be able to use their technical know-how to solve problems and create business opportunities to enhance consumer value.Will have the ability to work within a multi-functional team, effectively build relationships with potential technology/research partners, and communicate new regulations/technologies to non-technical team members.Will be comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, with a sound understanding of value chain impact with respect to decision making.Will be able to clearly communicate and manage risks.Minimum RequirementsSkills:Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).Time management.Numerical skills.Experience:Desirable:Deciphering technical information.Working with suppliers & importers.Education:Essential:Grade 12.Graduate in Technology/Quality with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Product Development and Formulation with manufacturing knowledge of general merchandise (Electrical appliances/Clothing and Textiles).Competencies:Essential:Writing and Reporting.Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations.Following Instructions and Procedures.Adhering to Principles and Values.Analyzing.Planning and Organizing.Desirable:Working with People.Learning and Researching.Relating and Networking.Applying Expertise and Technology.Presenting and Communicating Information.Adapting and Responding to Change.
