If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.The main purpose of the job is to manage the activities of workshop employees to meet required departmental targets at the required levels of efficiency and service delivery.Reporting: The role reports to the Director Retail Operations South.Job Objectives:To ensure you achieve the strategic business plan and objectives.To meet or exceed planned performance against the following KPI's:Parts sales and Gross Profit (GP).Workshop sales and Gross Profit (GP).Materials & Conversions.S & A Expense Control (Profit and Loss Statement).Aftermarket absorption.Operating Income / Margin.To ensure that you and employees comply with all Health and Safety requirements in the execution of their duties.Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring that all activities are customer-centric and value-adding.Ensure that WIP is managed by correctly allocating costs and invoicing work at the earliest opportunity whilst adhering to the Company's work instructions and procedures.Ensure a full staff complement at all times and that procedures are followed in line with relevant policies.Ensure the completion of performance evaluations on a regular basis.Effectively communicate with Business Control to ensure consistency with projections.Coordinate regular meetings with the managers to ensure their profitability and efficiency.To manage, develop and motivate employees in accordance with Company policy and culture.Oversee and maintain compensation plans for all employees as per the company policy.Ensure that all performance touch points and dialogues are completed on a regular basis.Ensure that all Volvo Group policies and procedures are adhered to and that all legislation is complied with.Ensure that the dealer is run as efficiently as possible.Supervise daily staff activities.Effectively plan daily work ensuring efficiency at all times.Allocate available Technicians according to the production plans.Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is met consistently.Liaise with service advisors to ensure correct completion and processing of documentation.Monitor and control progress of jobs ensuring feedback to service advisors.Ensure relevant technical literature is in place providing guidance where required.Ensure that Technicians comply with the Volvo Standards.Ensure necessary control of workshop equipment, vehicles, and special tools.Observe and follow directives given in policies, instructions as well as SHEQ.Ensure road testing and programming of vehicles according to required standards.Ensure vehicle testing is carried out.Address any issues of poor workmanship immediately.Qualification & ExperienceMatric / N3.Five (5) years' experience working as a Diesel Mechanic, 2 of which must be in a Team Leader/Supervisor capacity within the workshop environment.Experience in supervision of people.Ability to develop and train.Ability to effectively organize work.Demonstrated leadership skills.Shortlisted candidates must complete and sign personal verification permission, consent and indemnity declarations, to perform reference, criminal, credit, qualification, vetting process (if applicable to position) and any other checks deemed necessary.Volvo Group Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd is an affirmative action, equal employment opportunity employer.
