Support Engineer

Primary Role AccountabilitiesAssist with escalations from 2nd line support engineers-Provide 3rd line datacentre software supportPreventative maintenance (Patch management)Remediate issues identified by audit and monthly reportingTechnologies include (but not limited to)Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, Google cloudVirtualization: VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHVCitrix VirtualisationApplication Delivery Controllers: F5, Citrix, FortiADCOperating Systems: All Microsoft & LinuxMS infrastructure: Active Director, Exchange, SQL, SCCMBackups: Veeam, Backup ExecMonitoring: N-Central, SCOM, PRTG, WhatsUp, Solarwinds, Nagios, QuestAntivirus: McAfee, ESET, Symantec, KasperskyProactive analysis and reporting on system health. Present reports to customers during monthly feedback sessions. Submit change control and remediate reported findingsArchitect new solutionsCompile project plans based on architecture and resource availabilityImplement projects in line with planning and architectureDocument implementations and provide SOPsDuring project implementation, manage project resourcesCritical Requirements - Skills, Experience & QualificationsMust have Matric or Grade 12Required qualification One of: MCSE, VCP, CCETertiary IT qualificationAt least 10 + years experience supporting datacenter softwareGood understanding of server environment
