Datacentrix East London is looking for a Support Engineer to provide cloud infrastructure, datacenter software, and end-user computing support. The successful candidate must have the ability to identify and understand problems and find suitable solutions. They should be conscious of delivering solutions on time and clearly articulate problems and solutions with the technical team.Primary Role Accountabilities:Assist with escalations from 2nd line support engineersProvide 3rd line datacentre software supportPreventative maintenance (Patch management)Remediate issues identified by audit and monthly reportingTechnologies include (but are not limited to):Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, Google CloudVirtualization: VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHVCitrix VirtualisationApplication Delivery Controllers: F5, Citrix, FortiADCOperating Systems: All Microsoft & LinuxMS infrastructure: Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SCCMBackups: Veeam, Backup ExecMonitoring: N-Central, SCOM, PRTG, WhatsUp, Solarwinds, Nagios, QuestAntivirus: McAfee, ESET, Symantec, KasperskyProactive analysis and reporting on system health. Present reports to customers during monthly feedback sessions. Submit change control and remediate reported findingsArchitect new solutionsCompile project plans based on architecture and resource availabilityImplement projects in line with planning and architectureDocument implementations and provide SOPsDuring project implementation, manage project resourcesCritical Requirements - Skills, Experience & Qualifications:Must have Matric or Grade 12Required qualification: One of MCSE, VCP, CCETertiary IT qualificationAt least 10+ years' experience supporting datacenter softwareGood understanding of server environment
