ABOUT WESSELS The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country's Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.
ABOUT THE ROLE: This role is a permanent full-time position. As a superintendent production, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring successful production execution processes, while maintaining safety and costs.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Manage mining operations and processes;Monitor daily achievement of targets;Ensuring that the Load & Haul team supports and enables the delivery of areas planned to be mined for the production month;Embrace diversity and promote inclusion;Sign-off and manage the execution of the Monthly Plans;Assist in implementing and assuring project work meets quality requirements;Responsible for safety and improvements in their areas of responsibility;Support Safety and Health initiatives and campaigns.ABOUT YOU: You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Minimum of 5 years' experience in Production & Mining environment of which 2 years must be in a Line Leadership role;Experience of underground Load & Haul requirements.Qualifications for this role are: Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency OR Mine Manager Certificate;Degree or Diploma Mining Engineering will be advantageous.South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
