Study Manager

Study Manager (Contract) with experience in the Mining Industry.Qualifications:BSc. Degree in Engineering or relevant diploma7-10 years' experience in engineering management within a projects environment.Location:Bryanston, Gauteng, South AfricaJob Description:Responsible for the study life cycle of process mining projects, including concept origination, pre-feasibility, and bankable feasibility.Assist in tender and proposal preparation, as required.Time and cost control.Client liaison.Quality of study deliverables.Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines.Promote teamwork.Actively pursue excellent Health, Safety and Environmental performance standards and encourage all staff to achieve or out-perform the indicated HSE KPI's.Responsibilities:Work closely with the studies team to ensure that the capital estimate portion of all levels of studies is completed to the required standard and proposed timeframes.Ensure that all levels of studies, as assigned by manager, are completed on time and within budget.Undertake site visits to the project location and areas for project sourcing.Identify local and foreign suppliers and vendors.Identify applicable local laws and rules.Coordinate the generation of specifications for enquiries on mechanical equipment from the Process Department's equipment lists.Coordinate the compilation of bills of quantities and the issue of tender documents to prospective suppliers.Responsible for study report deliverable structure and content.Liaison and communication with the client, as required.Conduct infrastructure assessments and coordinate the costing thereof, including tailing dams, power plants, accommodation, roads, water supply, etc.Appoint consultants in areas where specific expertise is required.Responsible for risk management; coordinate risk analyses and HAZOP's, as required.Coordinate compilation of capital cost estimate; review and validate operating cost, coordinate input to financial model.Responsible for hand-over of a study to the Projects Department once MDME has been awarded the execution phase of the project.Assist in business development activities, as required.Knowledge, skills and experience:Good working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera planning system.Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Advanced numeric skills.
