Job title : Specialist: Career Coach N000985 Job Location : North West, Mahikeng Deadline : January 13, 2025 Quick Recommended Links Jobs by Location Job by industries KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a specialist career consulting service, guidance and advice to improve the employability of NWU students: Assist NWU students (individuals and groups) across NWU, in collaboration with career advisors / campus liaising officers; by providing them with information on job search strategies, CVS, cover letters, preparation for interviews and available job opportunities; Ensuring service level equity to all campuses.
Develop and present workshops to improve the employability of students : Determine and plan annual training and workshop sessions across the three campuses.
Develop and update career coaching content material, revise contents, slides and hand-outs for the presentations.
Plan dates with faculties and campus representatives and present training workshops.
Arrange presentations by external presenters on relevant topics.
Sourcing and maintaining career information resources : Identifying and assess relevant career information resources and materials in hard copy and electronic formats to update on career services management portal and related platforms.
Assist with the contents of the annual Career Guide; Maintain a high level of knowledge of graduate career job market and career trends.
Support colleagues in all the CC's services to students : Oversee the work of career advisors/ liaising officers in relation to facilitating training and workshops.
Act as a mentor and a coach to inhouse staff (i.e.
campus liaising offices/ career advisors) to support training and coaching across NWU as part of expanding training and coaching capacity.
Collaborate with Career services team to support annual Job fairs; employer presentations; thematic events; newsletters; vacation work and interns; etc.
Manage and track student attendance and feedback: Keep detailed record of students using the consulting service and attending the workshops; obtaining feedback from NWU students and graduates' customers to achieve 60% satisfaction.
Promote and Market Career Services offerings Collaborate with career services colleagues, student life, and faculties to market and promote career services offerings, including the work readiness short learning program.
Minimum requirements A bachelor's degree (NQF level 7) in Industrial Psychology or Psychology.
A valid driver's license.
A minimum of 5 years' related experience in training and development environment; career counselling / career coaching / career development / career advisory services RECCOMENDATION / ADDED ADVANTAGE: Accreditations with professional bodies i.e. SABPP; HPCSA; SACDA etc relevant to career counselling and development.
Registration with the HPCSA as a Psychometrist, Psychologist or Industrial Psychologist.
