Bistro Sixteen82, set amidst the breathtaking Steenberg Estate, is seeking a dynamic Sous Chef to lead and inspire our kitchen team alongside the Head Chef.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, including operations, staff training, and service execution.Lead by example, maintaining the highest culinary standards in food preparation and presentation.Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.Develop and implement creative menu items, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and ensure cost control measures are adhered to.Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.Step into the role of Head Chef during their absence, ensuring consistency and excellence.RequirementsA minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale casual environment.A culinary qualification is highly desirable.Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.Exceptional creativity and passion for innovative cuisine.Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen operations.Commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.Closing Date:
