Our client is an emerging Independent Solar Power Producer (IPP) focusing on growth and scalable markets like South Africa and having presence in Canada, South Africa and India. They finance, build, own and operate affordable and high performing solar systems. The organization relies on its track record, team's successful experience and its international partnership to penetrate markets by bringing competitive solar solutions for private and government businesses.
They have one of the largest solar PV roof-top projects under execution and 110MWp ground mount PV projects under execution in Cape Town. Further, the company secured 170MW projects in the pipeline in South Africa.
Requirements: Be responsible for pre-bid engineering, post-bid engineering, coordinating and getting all the required drawings/documents approval.Design the Solar PV system (roof-top and ground mount) as per applicable standards.Innovative and design suitable solutions including but not limited to PV and BESS.Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar systems, using design software (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Layout, Skelion, Shadow Analysis).Perform energy yield assessment and optimize overall design to achieve lowest LCOE.Prepare detailed and optimized BOQ/BOM.Conduct technical site visits and collect relevant data.Keep track of existing and upcoming technologies in the Solar PV space including but not limited to BESS, modules, inverter, MMS, etc.Provide technical support to BD, finance, procurement and construction teams on various matters.Communicate and coordinate with senior management for various approvals and implementation strategies.Always represent us with integrity and professionalism in all written and oral communications.Experience: You are a solution-driven person who is self-motivated and ambitious to grow your career exponentially.BSc Engineering (Elec) or B.Eng Engineering (Elec) or BTech Engineering (Elec).Minimum 2 years of design and project engineering experience in Solar PV working for EPC, Developer or in Consulting environment for C&I projects.Experience in utility scale solar PV projects is a plus.Excellent English written and oral communication skills.Proficient with PV design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope.Proficient with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.Proficient with Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project.Ability to work independently, learn fast, organize, prioritize and effectively multi-task to meet deadlines.Available and willing to travel within South Africa and abroad when required.Experience in Medium Voltage distribution design would be an advantage but is not a requirement.Strong project management and teamwork skills.Out of the box thinking and occasional travel.Please Note: Should you not receive a response from Chetty & Sinnett Recruitment within 5 working days of your application, please consider it unsuccessful.
